I'm going to admit that summer is a hard season for me to style. I love so many things about the season, but I'm such a fan of layering that I either do it anyway and sweat to death, or I feel bored with the tee/jeans or shorts/sandal combo. A few ways that I am trying to beat the boredom are:

  • Taking advantage of rainy/cooler days to wear light sweaters or layers.
  • Seriously distressing or cropping any denim I own.
  • Trying out headscarves and hats.
  • Scouring thrift stores for vintage tees and tops.
Ideas that I haven't tried yet, but I think might work are:

  • Bright lipstick with my everyday tees.
  • Mixing up my jewelry, purses, and sunglasses.
  • Wearing more loose fitting knit pants.
  • Knotting a tee shirt.
What do you do to beat the heat and still feel stylish? Any suggestions you have for me?

  1. What about sheer layers to keep the cool factor?

  2. I love to wear maxi dresses! They let the air circulate enough so I don't sweat to death while still offering the coverage I want. AND you can dress them up and down!

  3. Lots of color!!! A basic tee and shorts outfit feels less boring with bright colored shorts. Funky sandals are a must for me. And statement jewlery dresses things up without making you feel loke you're melting! I moved from NY to GA last summer so I've really learned to deal with heat!! And adding bright color to your face really does make a basic outfit feel more put together.

  4. Ditto what the previous poster said about sheer layers. I love sheer, flowy tanks layered over a cami with shorts. Add some necklaces, bracelets, cute sandals, sunglasses, etc.

  7. Nice post… here I would like to suggest you for making summer days more colorful you should try some combination of different gems stone jewelry because it looks cool and impressive as compare to others. I always prefer to wear combination of gems stone because I get some natural power as well as it helps me to improve my look. Recently I have purchased a set of earrings from http://etanzaniteshop.com/
