ONE little MOMMA: What We Wore + a Giveaway

What We Wore + a Giveaway

|

Before we had Kesler, when we only had one child, we were so worried we wouldn't be able to love the second as much as the first.  How could we? Where was any more love going to come from? We were sure one of the kids would get less love. We just couldn't wrap our heads around us. I even remember going to the pumpkin patch with Easton right before I was due and thinking, "This is our last outing as a family of three." I was mourning it! But then baby number two came and wow, did we love him! Somehow our love for our kids has multiplied exponentially with each addition. There is no shortage of love around here!

The challenge we have found is that there is a shortage of time.  Having three kiddos makes it hard to give each one individual attention. I have realized lately how often I lump Kesler and Easton together in EVERYTHING. They don't really have separate lives or separate time with us. And I think that has gotta change. It will definitely be a forced change when Easton starts pre-K summer school next month. (Which kills me! Why does he have to grow up!!!!!) But I want to be more deliberate about spending quality time with each of my guys.

One way I tried to do this in the last week was including only my oldest, Easton, in a Mom and Me style post. I know a photo shoot probably isn't be his first activity choice- but I picked out a new shirt for him in his favorite color and he and I spent time playing catch. My kids love to look at photos of themselves and I know he and I will both cherish photos of us together like this later on. When I stopped posting What Kids Wore Wednesday, I stopped doing kid's style posts- but I still like picking out clothes for my kids. I plan on doing more of these types of posts- one on one with my boys.

And the cute clothes we chose for this post? They are almost all from Boden. I love this classic striped tee and these ponte knit pants are really, really comfortable. Both pieces will go a long way in my wardrobe. Easton fell in love with his new shirt and I can tell it is far better quality than our normal Target purchase. As I browsed their site I found plenty of high quality basics and a great selection of sale items- which is my kind of shopping. Through May 24th OLM readers can snag 15% off plus free shipping at Boden and today you can enter to win a $50 gift card. The giveaway ends in a week and the winner must have a US- based shipping address. Good luck!

  6. I would probably buy something for my boys even though I love their women's line. I enjoyed your post on the time shortage. Its so true. We make dates with each of our boys. Mama and Daddy dates. I think it helps each child feel special AND it gives the parent time to connect and see things more specifically to the child on the date. Plus, a great side effect is that now they get it when Mama and Daddy want a date with each other….it becomes our turn ;)

  10. I am about the opposite of you....twin girls! :) but, still, I enjoy picking out what they wear so they compliment each other, but aren't "matchy". (although, at 3 1/2, they are having a LOT more say about their outfits!!)
I would probably buy something for me that would be a "splurge" -like a dress or cashmere sweater. I tend to second hand or sale shop only for myself, so that would be a really special treat! Thanks for the giveaway!

  41. one way we've tried to get one-on-one time with our kiddos, is every month each child gets to have a "date" with mom and a "date" with dad. since my husband works long hours right now, it's usually just something quick on Friday or Saturday evening (a game of bowling, frozen yogurt, mini golf, etc..). but this way each child gets to go out and do something fun with each parent, and you get some solid one-on-one time.

I've never shopped at boden, but hopefully i'll win the gift card and get to try it out :)

  64. Just found your blog and think you are lovely and adorable (and so are your children!). This related to me in this moment so well because we are hoping for a 2nd baby soon but we are worried we won't be able to love or devote as much time to our 8 month old daughter with another baby around. So thank you for reminding me that our love will only grow. I can't comprehend it but I have faith it will work out! :)
