I hope you and your family had the best Christmas yesterday- I know we really, really did. I was just pinching myself all day yesterday at how happy I was and how great life is. This has been a huge year for me, for our marriage and for our family and it hasn't been easy. Yesterday felt like a big payoff. What blessings to have three happy and healthy beautiful kids, a thriving marriage and more self confidence than ever before. (It takes a brave woman to wear pants this loud!)

I'm sure you have seen enough red and fur combos out of me, but I've got this one more. I wanted to share this "holiday" look before the holidays are too far gone. I wore this on Christmas Eve for our family party. These buffalo plaid pants are loud enough that all they needed was some coordinating basics to let them do their thing. I think they will also work well with a graphic tee or a moto jacket without looking too juvenile.

So onto New Years Eve! What are you planning? What are you wearing?

Merry Christmas Eve! What a great day! If you are like me, today will be full of baking, last minute present wrapping, house cleaning and listening to Christmas carols. We will be heading to my parent's home tonight for Christmas Eve dinner, a little program and games. My assignments: sweet potatoes, relish plate, and pumpkin pie. Having spent Christmas away from family before, I am so grateful that my family gets to spend the holiday with my parents and my brothers. We will spend Christmas morning at our house and do out own gift opening as just our little family. I can't wait!

What are your Christmas Eve plans? Do you have any favorite traditions?

What I Wore: A Lot of Fur

Pair a jewel toned top, turquoise jewelry and fur for a great winter statement

Moccasins and destroyed denim

Hooded fur vest

Fur, burgundy, and turquoise
Shirt: F21
Vest: F21
Pants: Thrifted (GAP)
Boots: Thrifted (Minnetonka)

Sometimes I'll put on an outfit and it just feels like 'me'. I may be the only one who would wear it, I may be the only one who likes it or it just feels like a day when my personal style is satisfied. This was one of those outfits. A jewel toned top, turquoise jewelry, fringey moccs, and fur. My husband thinks I look like a Wookie in this vest, but I LOVE the over-the-top statement it makes. (Not to mention it is WARM!)

We'll be trying to stay warm this week and seriously I can't believe there is only one more day until Christmas! I still need to shop for food and get to wrapping, but I really can't wait for Christmas morning with my kiddos. For the first time ever I really don't expect anything for myself and I'm not excited about my gifts- I'm just so excited to give my kids theirs! I'll count that as a small step toward selflessness in motherhood.

What is left on your list? What are you looking forward to?

What a week! I've been hustling to get all of our orders out to you on time and between trying to get Christmas cookies made for Soren's work, presents ordered, packages shipped and oh ya know meals for my children- I'm feeling it!! I hope you are enjoying the joy and peace of the season a little better than I am so far and that your plans are all coming together for a wonderful holiday. I love Christmas time and although things are busy, I'm so grateful for all of the wonderful things happening in our lives during this magical season.

What Kids Wore Wednesday

-
Welcome to this week's link up! How are your Christmas preparations coming? I am ALMOST there. One tradition that my mom always did was to sew us new pajamas to open on Christmas Eve. We have adopted that tradition in our family too- only I'm not sewing this time. Do do this tradition too? I am trying to get my boys all matching pjs and it is proving a little difficult to cover sizes 12 mo-4t! So wish me luck snagging those last items. I'm thinking I'll share the boys dressed up in them next week! Care to join me?

You may have noticed that there wasn't a link party last week- things have been busy! As of now I am considering not continuing with the link party next year. It has been really fun, but I'm ready to put my blogging time towards other posts (maybe). Any complaints? Agreements? Let me know your thoughts- I really appreciate you die-hards and your darling kiddos!

What did my kids wear?

I love having a baby to dress right now! He stays relatively clean and has no opinions! He is so fun to coordinate with and I take advantage of it at least on Sundays. What a little angel baby he is! That smile is basically plastered to his face NON STOP. He laughs all day long! I can't imagine a more wonderful little miracle in our lives.
