…nother BOY! Really it is. We found out yesterday and I was shocked. I really thought we were having a girl this time around. We are totally excited, but it is amazing what a brain shift it is from thinking you are having your first girl to finding out it is a third boy! I am a little disappointed about some specific girlie things I was looking forward to (ie. pierced ears, matching chambray shirts, tiny ballet slippers), but mostly the hardest part is that it will be YEARS before we have another shot at a girl. YEARS!

Many of you don’t know that I come from a family of five- four brothers and then me, the only girl. My dad comes from a family of 6 boys- no girls. My life is filled with boys from top to bottom and I love it, but I do feel like I have been waiting my WHOLE life for a baby girl to be born into my family. So we will wait a little longer. And that is okay because we love our boys! Isn’t he so cute already???

So onto the positives of baby boy number three! I get to reinvent baby boy things again. I am starting from scratch on this nursery so please send your cool ideas my way. I will also have a new tiny model for belts and ties come summer- always terrific for business. Plus, anything I buy for Kesler is now totally justified because it will definitely be passed on. AND we will now have a complete trio for our Three Musketeers. Soren will certainly be making this little one a sword and a quiver and a shield and heaven knows what else too. We know boys and we love them- so we are ready for you little one! Well, we will be…in a few months!

  2. Congratulations! We were the opposite, convinced we were having a boy and ended up with a girl, but we couldn't be happier!

P.S. There has to be some sort of extra credit for being a Mom to 3 boys!

  3. Can I just say I know EXACTLY how you felt? I thought for sure our third was going to be the girl, and I was shocked and initially sad when we found out it was our third boy. I had only considered girl names, girl stuff because I was convinced it was a girl- I felt completely different and I was so excited for a baby girl. But after about 5 minutes, my shock wore off, and I was truly excited to have a third little boy. They are so sweet, and I'm the first one in my family to have 3 boys since my Grandparents did ;) So I have bragging rights, too. haha. It's fun to see that they'll all be best buds/ partners in crime. So congratulations- welcome to the club of mothering three boys :) It's really LOUD and fun!

    P.S.
Just curious if you are taking YEARS off from trying for a baby girl because you're already planning on the craziness of three boys and will need some time to recover? That's kind of my plan now- that and not wanting my husband to miss another first year of another baby- silly Army. We have to wait till we know he'll be home long enough!

  4. I totally get it...I have 3 boys (7, 5, and 2)and I thought i was destined to have all boys. I love my boys. It is so fun to watch them grow up to be such great buddies, to wrestle each other, get dirty together, and explore. They love being together. I was blessed to have a girl this last year. Having 3 boys makes having my girl that much sweeter. Enjoy them. Maybe someday you'll get your girl, but in the meantime, enjoy those little munchkins and raise them to be the Prince Charmings that girls would want to marry =) Congrats and good luck with your pregnancy!

I'd love a girl but I'd never trade my Mamma's boys for anyone in the world :-D

    Congrats.

  10. Congratulations on your baby boy! How fun! Like you I have always been surrounded by boys. I am the only girl with 5 brothers. I even had 31 male cousins before a girl cousin appeared. I now have 3 boys and one girl! Life is great with boys and an occasional girl!
