Christmas Glimpse + Shop Update

Hello on this last day of the year! Thanks for checking in on today. I hope you have a memorable and a safe New Years! As for our plans- time will tell. We have a party and a sitter lined up, but unfortunately we also have two sick kids. Boo!

Thank goodness the sickness waited to hit until after Christmas and we had a perfect holiday. Today I’m sharing a few (or a lot) of photos from our festivities.

Christmas Eve started off our festivities with a great dinner, games, and family time.

My Dad gave the Christmas Eve message including reading excerpts from the Christmas story.

IMG_1451b

Christmas morning we went over to my parent’s house after opening stockings at ours. I was so dang tired. I may be an adult now, but I still can not sleep on Christmas Eve. I was up late and up early.

IMG_1498b

My mom applying the finishing glaze to the best part of Christmas breakfast- homemade Cream Cheese Cherry Danish. I tried to eat only this for the entire day. It is that good.

IMG_1485b

Yes, I posted this photo on Friday, but it is worth looking at again. So delish.

IMG_1504b

Opening presents was so rewarding. Easton LOVED his watch. He looks so grown up in it!

IMG_1565b

Soren and I each got slippers from my parents. I can safely say I like mine better. And I am pretty sure that he can say the same about his.

IMG_1542b

As one of their gifts Soren made the boys each their own custom fitting quiver for their arrows and swords. He did such an incredible job on them. The boys were so happy! Nothing like a little boy in footie jammies and mini-leather quiver.

IMG_1582b

IMG_1586b

Soren made himself a sword for Christmas to match the ones he has made for the boys. They thought it was awesome. Now Dad can sword fight too!

IMG_1601b

I think Soren wins the award for the best gift giving this year because he also made me one of my gifts. He designed and crafted a new earring holder for me. It is made of leather and wood and turned out so cool- very Anthropologie. I can’t wait to post more about it later. It was a such a surprise!

IMG_1610b

Soren got a fancy knife for Christmas that he already knew about, but he was surprised by the root beer sampler I got him. I think he got 9 different kinds. It was nice for him to get at least one surprise.

IMG_1683b

Despite my expression, these movies were a gift to myself from Black Friday shopping. I couldn’t resist- they were such a deal!

IMG_1650b

My Dad surprised my Mom with tickets to Taylor Swift next year. He made such a sweet card to go with it that he brought my mom to tears. We all laughed at their cute romantics.

IMG_1701b

For the rest of the day, everyone just enjoyed their gifts (and each other!). Kesler watched Tangled with his new polar bear buddy and tested out headphones for his uncle.

Thanks for indulging me! I hope you enjoyed your Christmas as much as we did. Happy New Year!!!

Instafriday: Preview of Christmas

Did anyone else have a white Christmas?? We sort of did… it snowed a week before Christmas. My poor kids thought snow = Christmas and were more than excited to wake up to the winter wonderland. After we cleared that up they were pretty excited to taste it and get bundled up. Kesler even brought be some snow in bed- yummy! Silly guy.

IMG_3694

In reality Kesler only lasted about five minutes between the snow and the wind. Easton stayed outside with Soren for at least an hour setting up a tent to test in out in the stormy weather.

IMG_3695

The next day we all went out and made a snowman and shoveled the driveway. We had such cute little help!

I may have a smartphone, but I still love to see things written down. This last week I have been transferring my dates and birthdays over to next year’s planner pages. I’m old-school like that.

It was so fun being Santa this year. I just love finding the perfect gifts for people, especially now that it is my kids. And I’ll be honest, I still can’t sleep at night on Christmas Eve. I may have known what almost everything was under the tree, but the anticipation still kept me up all night and woke me up early. Is this normal???

IMG_3719

I’ll have another post on Monday of a little Christmas re-cap, but to sum it up Christmas was yummy and delightful. We had our traditional homemade Cream Cheese Cherry Danish with Train Wreck Eggs at my parents. Amazing.

After gifts were all opened, Kesler and I watched a new movie while my brothers and Easton put together the new Lego sets they received. We are so blessed and everyone was thrilled with their haul.

IMG_3744

Poor Easton started throwing up on Christmas night. I’m so glad it didn’t hit before Christmas, but he has been sick ever since. He just can’t shake this flu bug. Thankfully no one else has caught it yet.

These are the risks we moms take- snuggling with puking kids. Hopefully it is upping my defenses????

We hope you and yours have been healthy! Have a great weekend!

Liverpool Jeans Review

Have you heard of the Liverpool Jeans Company? I hadn’t until recently when I was given several pairs of their denim to try. The Liverpool Jeans Company is a denim line for misses, inspired by the Beatles, that has hit the market at all major retailers and many boutiques across the country.

I put on my jeans as soon as they arrived and they did not disappoint. I’ve worn them constantly ever since! The jeans are made of a very soft sateen denim with a great stretch; it doesn’t even feel like you are wearing jeans. I love that the waist is a little higher which holds everything and anything in. I picked the Abby Skinny in Black and Vert Green. The black is such a crisp black that easily dresses up or down.

And the green- it is so me! This is definitely ‘Kilee Green.’ It is my new favorite pair of colored jeans. They are the right skinniness for boots and will work great with flats or heels too.

And how is the bum? See for yourself- I think they are totally flattering!

Here is a little more about Liverpool Jeans:
· They make jeans in the most innovative denim fabrics, with lift and shape solutions, following a woman’s natural curves to provide a long, sleek slimming effect all under $100 at retail.
· The brand is inspired by the music of The Beatles, and the women who influenced them. Every product has a John Lennon or Paul McCartney lyric/quote printed on the inside right pocket of the denim
· They are currently sold at Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Dillard’s, Amazon.com, as well as 1600+ specialty boutiques across the country.

We may have a giveaway for your very own pair of Liverpool Jeans coming up, but until then go over to FB and ‘like’ their page for a chance to win a pair every week. And try on a pair next time you are at Dillard’s or Nordstrom- they are a great [pair of jeans for women of all ages!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! We had such a great day and I can’t wait to share more later this week. I love Christmas, but I feel like now that it is over I can actually take a week to breathe and catch up a bit. Things have been so busy that I didn’t get any groceries for Christmas until Monday afternoon, not to mention a lack of outfit photos this week too. This is what I wore out shopping. I dressed up this basic sweatshirt and jeans with a cool statement necklace, loose waves, and a poppy color on my lips.
